The Scrum Master is a servant leader to one or two development teams that are utilizing the Scrum framework to achieve the benefits of iterative and incremental software releases.
By promoting the agile mindset and the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master’s role is to help a team deliver value to our users and our organization.
Through this, the Scrum Master protects the development team from distractions, helps remove impediments, and supports the team in self organization and continuous improvement to become high performers who collaborate and innovate together.
•Responsible for fostering self-organizing teams through training, facilitation, mentoring and coaching of agile mindset and Scrum framework.
•Organize and facilitate each ceremony of the sprint – daily planning, backlog
refinement, demo, retrospective, sprint planning and release planning.
•Provide metrics related to team performance.
•Ensure development teams are practicing the core principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
•Identify and help remove impediments and team distractions.
•Ensure the team has a shared understanding of the iterative value they intend to
deliver, which is clearly represented in their backlog.
•Facilitate discussion of conflict resolution and risks with the team, and across
development teams and escalate when appropriate.
•Create and maintain an environment of safety.
•Improve transparency through communication to all users and stakeholders.
•Assist with prioritization and resolution of incident/problem management.
•Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
•6-8 years experience within software development and at least one year of experience on an agile team.
•One year in servant as leader role.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in the fields of: Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Business, or related fields.
